Preparing For Your Exam

Preparation
Follow your normal routine. You may take regularly prescribed medications and there are no dietary restrictions.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete the necessary paperwork.

The technologist will ask you to change into a gown if your clothing contains any metal including zippers, snaps or under wire.

What to expect

A typical exam takes approximately 40 minutes to complete.

The technologist may assist you onto an automated table that positions you into the scanner. You will hear a series of noises while pictures are being taken.

For your comfort, ear plugs or head phones for music are provided and you will be able to communicate with the technologist during the entire exam.

Emergency or stat reads are available immediately upon the request of your physician.
